Sant Nirankari Mission
“In late november I was honoured and privileged to join 55 chiropractors from around the world to donate our time and skills on a mission trip in India. We were issued a large tent with chiropractic benches and chairs, and an unlimited line of Indian men, women and children. This was a part of the Sant Nirankari mission.
The mission is inclusive of every religion with the aim of promoting oneness, harmony and peace. The gathering we attended consisted of 1.5 million people. Over 3 days we checked the spines of around 13,000 people with a whole range of health backgrounds. The atmosphere was electric. The most humbling feeling was the pure gratitude we received from the Indians after their adjustment, as this along with a hug was the most they could give back.
We were very lucky to be the VIP guests at the event getting a meet and greet with the face of the mission, Mata Ji, as well as joining her on stage for the ceremonies each night. At the ceremonies people would line up for 5km to walk to the corner of the stage where we sat and bow to Mata Ji. We didn’t realise how lucky we were.
I am very happy to be able to bring some great tips from the other Chiropractors home to you and can’t wait to go back again. Mission work like this helps me truly understand that the feeling of love and happiness through gratitude of others is far greater than anything you can get for yourself.”
Local Mission Work
Working with the local community is equally as important to Jay and Evolution Chiropractic as the chiropractic missions abroad. We feel very lucky to work in a community as wonderful as Warrnambool. Beyond normal hours at the clinic, Jay frequently works with organisations like the Salvation Army to serve people in Warrnambool and surrounds. He also gives his time and expertise to various community groups through free health talks and spinal scans.
I am a huge believer in giving back and helping out in the community and the world. Think globally, act locally I suppose. I believe that the measure of a person’s life is the effect they have on others. ” – Steve Nash
Hands on India
Hands on India provides free chiropractic care, first aid and medical supplies to the impoverished communities surrounding Siliguri in northeast India. In this area, breaking river stones and selling the rubble to businesses serves as the best source of income, leaving the people with appalling living and working conditions along with inadequate health care.
100% of the money raised goes directly to the community, and during the 2 week visits, students and practitioners provide over 4,500 life changing chiropractic treatments and basic first aid. We here at Evolution Chiropractic are huge supporters of this worthy mission.
We love sharing this cause and finding ways to make its impact expand, so feel free to contact us for further information on how to help or get involved.
