Living in 2022, we are constantly busy with notifications, deadlines, schedules and all the other noises and events that come with being so connected to the world. The way most of our lifestyles are constructed now, we experience quite a lot of stress. But what actually stresses us out?

 

In our office, we talk about 3 different kinds of ‘stress’: Emotional/Mental, Chemical and Physical stress. 

  • EMOTIONAL/ MENTAL STRESS consists of things like
      • SOCIAL STRESS
      • PYSCHOLOGICAL
      • EMOTIONAL
  • CHEMICAL STRESS consists of things like
      • DIETSTYLE / EAT AND DRINK
      • DRUGS AND LIFE-STYLE CHOICES
      • POLLUTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS
  • PHYSICAL STRESS comes in Macro and Micro stresses, these include 
    • MACRO (TRAUMA)
      • CAR ACCIDENTS
      • SPORTS INJURIES
      • SLIPS AND FALLS
      • EVEN BIRTH TRAUMA
    • MICRO (BAD HABITS)
      • POSTURAL STRESS
        • SLEEP POSITIONS 
        • SLOUCHING ON THE  COUCH / OR CAR
        • WORK POSITIONS

Again, it’s not to say we can eliminate ALL of these (some stress is even good for us- but that’s a whole topic on it’s own). Let this serve as a note just to remind you there are stresses around, so make sure they don’t stack up and make sure you’re coming in to visit to help your body respond the best way it can 🙂
